The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs has accredited two sonography programs in Omaha, Nebraska as of 2017. The University of Nebraska Medical Center offers a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography with a general concentration. Students who prefer to attend a shorter program can earn an Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, with a general, cardiac or vascular concentration, at Nebraska Methodist College. Both programs have financial aid experts who can help students assemble financial aid packages that includes scholarships and other types of funding.
Attending a program accredited by CAAHEP is the quickest and best path to starting a sonography career. The clinical training obtained while attending school meets requirements for taking the ARDMS certification examinations.
