Sonography Education in Las Vegas, Nevada
Over 37,000 full-time students attend one of the many universities and colleges in Las Vegas. The University of Nevada-Las Vegas and the College of Southern Nevada are the two largest. There is one Diagnostic Medical Sonography program accredited by CAAHEP, and it is located at the College of Southern Nevada. The available programs can be completed in six semesters. The school notes that they are “limited entry programs” which means there is a small number of seats available.
It is advisable to apply well in advance of the desired program start date. However, attending a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is recommended because the program is designed to fully prepare students to pass the ARDMS exams for credentialing. ARDMS registration has become a pre-employment requirement for many medical facilities and physician offices.
