Sonography Training Education in Indiana in 2017
Diagnostic Medical Sonography students can choose among three CAAHEP accredited sonography schools in Indiana as of 2017. The Franciscan Health Crown Point in Crown Point, Indiana offers ultrasound technology students the opportunity to earn an Associate degree with a cardiac concentration. The University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana offers a Bachelor’s degree with a general concentration. The university also has concentrations in cardiac sonography and vascular sonography, giving students opportunities to specialize by meeting specific course requirements. The Ivy Tech Community College in Terre Haute offers an Associate’s degree with a general concentration, a cardiac concentration and a vascular concentration. After completing the CAAHEP accredited ultrasound program, graduates are eligible to sit for the ARDMS exam to earn certification.
Students can also take an ARRT recognized ultrasound program offered by the Indiana University in Kokomo as of 2017.

With 50 job openings becoming available each year, it is expected that 1,360 sonographers will be employed in Indiana by 2024.
